Charleston Water lifts boil water advisory for portions of service area
(April 1, 2006, 10:00 p.m.)--Charleston Water System, with consent from the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the following areas:

· Downtown Charleston, James Island, West Ashley
· North Charleston
· Crowfield
· Hollywood, Ravenel, Meggett
· John's Island (St. John's Water Company)

Lab results for samples taken in these areas indicate the water is safe to drink. However, the advisory remains in effect for customers in following areas until at least 9 a.m. Sunday morning (daylight savings time), when SCDHEC's lab results for these areas are available:

· Sullivan's Island
· Folly Beach
· Dorchester County Public Works
· Dorchester Water Authority
